Blog influencers may be found in almost every field these days, and they keep online communities of readers interested in learning about the different brands, products, and companies for their interests.

Although the terms “blogger” and “influencer” are commonly used interchangeably, they should not be. Some bloggers do become Influencers as a result of their writing, but Influencers do not need to maintain a blog.

Smart blog influencers know what their readers want from them. They are good enough to create a great story even from a simple subject matter. Their content can attract readers, keep them on their blog and entertain readers via awesome content.

Normally, blog influencers earn from sponsored content and advertisements they place on their blog. Their financial reward depends upon the blog traffic they are managed to maintain. Higher the blog traffic, higher would be their financial rewards for blog influencers.

Finding the Bloggers

There are many bloggers out there who are ready to share their expertise. Most of the blog influencers are ready to work with marketers if their brands are aligned with bloggers’ personal and professional ethics and they are paid well for their talent.

Although the blogger community is vast, it’s very close-knit. Many blog influencers in the same vertical will often share and interact online with one another. They collaborate and do guest posts together.

Look at who is talking about your brand online. Are there people who have praised your brand on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter? Are they running blogs?

You can make a list of the top ten bloggers that you want to work with. Don’t get too attached yet! You still need to decide your budget! Once you have a top-ten list,

  • Look at their content to see if they have ever collaborated with other bloggers.
  • Compare the content that is not sponsored and brand-sponsored. What is the frequency of brand-sponsored content being posted by bloggers?
  • You can check to see which people they are following and with whom they socialize on the internet channels. What are their tagging accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter? Which online conversations are they involved in and part of?

The best bloggers share their daily adventures, joys, and challenges with an online audience. This human element is what engages readers and keeps them coming back – it’s a form of reality-based entertainment. A blog that isn’t informative, entertaining, and relatable would not be effective and goes viral on the digital platform.

However, brand safety is an important concern. Review a few archived and current posts to get to know a blogger. To see how they write about brands, and the language they use, search for past sponsored posts. If a blogger doesn’t align with your brand’s core values or mission, don’t ask him/her to write about it.

It’s important that they do not compromise their personal values when evaluating potential partnerships with brands. Once you have identified bloggers you wish to reach out to, keep this in mind. Bloggers are often frustrated by outreach that isn’t relevant or authentic to them.

Once you have decided on the bloggers that you will approach for your influencer campaign, it is time to think about what your ideal editorial content should look like.

Sponsored content should fit seamlessly into the blogger’s editorial mix. It is important that you decide what type of content will resonate with your audience and what call to action you want to encourage them to take after they have read the content.
